My role as someone who creates Cornwall milestone family photos means that, most often, I’m working with couples on their wedding day or meeting the newest member of their family. It’s not often that we think of other milestones that we might want photographed because these are the “big ones” as far as our families are concerned.
Leave it to Kris to take it in a different direction.
The Grants are moving and Kris couldn’t be more excited about their new home taking shape, so this is the first session in a year in the life of their new home. I can’t wait to see how this little (BIG) project takes shape and help them celebrate its completion! I love that this project was her brainchild and that I’m going to get to make the sorts of photos that I know they’ll go through together with Finn and Mair as they grow up, talking about what the field looked like in its early stages while the kids struggle to wrap their little brains around how the landscape could’ve looked so different now compared to what it will look like by the time these conversations will take place.
Planning for posterity requires some foresight. I’m so thankful that it’s one of Kristin’s many gifts because this project is going to be so fun to be involved in!
Our first session meant getting to play in the building site, hang out in the weeds, ride the ATV, and eat cookies between the dirt piles. I mean, it’s basically a dream afternoon for me. ;)
Here’s a look at the fun we had:
