Cooper
Your at-home Cornwall newborn photos took on a life of their own. You were all chubby-cheeked, alert, baby boy glory and Rexx was excited to have a visitor, both of which made this session so precious.
I laughed for days afterwards about just how excited Rexx was. I had to start playing a game to see how slowly I could move so as to not distract him and actually get him in the photos. It seemed like every time I breathed, he’d look at me excitedly as if to say, “You’re moving? Me too! I’m going! What are we doing now?” He’s going to be such a fun companion for you as you both grow up! He might be big and exciteable, but he’s such a gentle beast. I can’t wait to see what kind of relationship the two of you form – because make no mistake: he IS going to appoint himself your best friend and number one protector.
Your parents are just the sweetest people. I know you have no frame of reference for this and have no idea what I’m talking about, but know that you’ve been born into a welcoming, loving, gentle home. When they’re with you, they’re calm and attentive, and they seem so content just soaking in your every detail in the most serene ways. Your dad tweaked something in his back and your mom had major surgery as part of bringing you into this world and yet, if I hadn’t known either situation had happened, I would’ve had NO CLUE. They’re so happy to spend time with you that their own discomfort doesn’t matter.
Cooper, my friend, you are so loved. You’re cherished; you’re adored; you’re valued. I hope that you grow up knowing this deep within your soul and that this knowledge helps you become a spectacular human being. But let’s start simple and just work on getting those burps out. ;)
