Mason & Chantal’s Marshes Golf Club wedding marked the official wrap up of my COVID postponements, which made it feel extra-celebratory. After almost two and a half years and three wedding dates, they were *finally* getting to have their moment in the spotlight.

This day also marked a reunion for Kristin and I with the Lemieux gang, since we photographed Steph and Mat’s wedding several years ago. We couldn’t wait to see them all again, and meet several new additions to their family, since multiple babies had come along in the years since we were last together. To say we were excited would be a massive understatement. Six years later, the energy on Steph and Mat’s dance floor was still memorable and I had high hopes for what Mason and Chantal’s evening would look like.

I wasn’t disappointed.

Meeting Mason’s family felt like meeting an extension of the Lemieuxs. The Aubuts immediately made us feel welcome and, after an hour together, it felt as if I’d known them for years. The humour and bonds shared between members of each family echoed one another, making Mason and Chantal’s partnership seem like it was destined to happen.

Mason and Chantal’s day was filled with so many little moments, from prepping alllll the toddlers and Jack’s enthusiastic use of his bubble gun during the ceremony, to Chantal’s elegant cathedral-length veil and the tears in Mason’s eyes during speeches. It was a day of absolutely serene beauty and heartwarming speeches.

And then there was that dance floor.

What a night! We had so much action to choose from that Kris and I were able to just keep hopping our way around the floor to catch one wild dance move after another. This wedding was the second wedding of a double header weekend for me (check out Katie & Jason’s Royal Ottawa Golf Course wedding!), so the fact that I didn’t want to leave says everything about how much fun we were having. I think we laughed every bit as hard as the guests while out on that dance floor! By the time we were giving out hugs and loading up the car, my cheeks hurt from the smiling and that, if anything, is the sign of a truly wonderful day of celebrations.

Mason and Chantal, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for living such a lively, honest, love-fuelled and love-filled day. We could not be more thankful to have been able to document this day for you.
