When Les & MaryAnn first reached out, I learned that this Toronto-based couple had wanted to elope to Ireland but COVID uncertainty had made the logistics of that too difficult, so they began searching for elopement options closer to home. Some Googling of Ontario castles and ruins led them to discover St Raphael’s Ruins, and somewhere down that rabbithole, they also found me.
From our very first call, I was excited about these two. It turns out that we have a shared interest in food, so I committed to trying to help them discover as many gems as possible in Glengarry, Cornwall, and beyond. I loved how open they were with me about what they wanted, how they wanted to spend their time, and the connection the two of them share. They were planning a true elopement; with no guests, they were needing to also recruit witnesses (*cue Kristin and I*). This day was about removing all distractions and really allowing themselves to focus on celebrating their marriage, rather than the details.
Les and MaryAnn, I so appreciate the trust and enthusiasm you showed me. It was a genuine pleasure to be there to support you, cheer you on, and document the occasion for you. I hope that you love this little look into our short time together:
I’m Ang. I’m an inclusive, Cornwall, Ontario-based photographer offering wedding and documentary family coverage to families of all kinds locally and worldwide. Visual storytelling is what I do best, so laughter and connection are important in my work. I love working with couples who are emotionally present on their wedding day – no matter how many other people are present – and who love spending time laughing together. Celebrations like this St Raphael’s Ruins elopement are a great example of the kind of day I love being involved in. If you’d like to see another example of how I approached a rainy St Raphael’s wedding day, start here.
