Meet Loik. He’s kinda my hero. At just seven months, he can laugh so hard that he turns beet red and drool runs down his chin. And he can pull off a fedora. What I wouldn’t give to get away with any of that….
He and I have been waiting a long time to meet one another: I worked with his parents on a very cute maternity session late last fall; his expected arrival date was Boxing Day of last year, but he didn’t put in an appearance before I left on my travels on New Year’s Eve, so he and I waited until he could sit up well enough to do his first big session with me. What a blast he was! For the first 20 minutes, he was laughing so uncontrollably that, at times, it was hard for me to focus on the camera well enough to frame the shot. :)
I learned a few things from our time together:
1)As well as being a sucker for babies in overalls, I’m also a sucker for babies in fedoras
2)I’m in love with my new backdrops
3)A mini-man-cave-in-progress makes for a ridiculously cute set
4)This little guy loves grass, weeds, and anything else sprouting out of the ground
He made it through about an hour or hour and a half of photos, which produced so many great shots that I barely knew where to start with my editing, let alone being able to decide what to include here.
Dude, you’re one cool little kid! Here are a few of my favourites:
