There was no shortage of unpredictability on Tim & Kayla’s fall Williamstown Fairgrounds wedding day. From the level of banter to the discovery of a tiny snapping turtle and a bride with a one-day-old broken elbow to multiple tearful groomsmen, this day gave me plenty to work with!
While Tim and the guys were cracking jokes and figuring out how to attach their fishing lure-accented boutonnieres, Kayla spent her prep time with her girls, making her mom and stepmom both cry in the sweetest of moments.
Tim and Kayla’s ceremony was held behind the barn at the fairgrounds, under the stand of giant pines that has always been my favourite feature of the location. It was wonderful to work with Marilyn Lebrun again, particularly since she was officiating this wedding for her nephew. Watching an officiant add personal details and touches to a ceremony is so special. Also, I’ll have you know that when Marilyn pours whiskey into the quaich, she doesn’t hold back! There was enough in there for 6 or 7 people. ;)
I was particularly touched by Tim’s Mom’s speech about the letter he left behind for his parents when they took him to university. Her anecdotes revealed a thoughtful and caring side of Tim that was so lovely to hear about (and caused multiple people to start ugly crying).
Martin got the dance floor off to such a rocking start that I actually cleared out of the way for a few minutes so that I could come up with a strategy as to how I was going to navigate through the hordes of people who got up to dance. What a great way to get the evening portion of the reception rolling!
Tim and Kayla, I’m so thrilled to have been there with you to capture all of the emotion of your beautiful wedding day at the Williamstown Fairgrounds.
