When Matt and Steph sat down with me to talk about their plans for their Cornwall winter Table 21 wedding, their requests were simple: capture the joy and excitement they feel when they’re together, and feature their kids and loved ones along the way. Little did I know how easy they’d make it to find all of the joy in their day.
Their loose afternoon plans meant that we were able to take advantage of some gorgeous late-day light and then have a pub session at Jet Set in the NAV Centre. Winter weddings mean that portraits can be a little chilly, but these two copes without any problem and we got to take full advantage of the sunshine. Seems like a pretty simple thing to do, right? By creating such a loose schedule, they were able to share a lot of laughs with people they care about deeply, and they headed for their Table 21 wedding ceremony feeling relaxed and ready to see the rest of their guests.
One of the truly awesome things about a wedding is standing in a room surrounded by people you care deeply about, safe in the knowledge that this particular combination of people have gathered simply because they’ve been asked by two people. These specific people coming together like this will probably never happen again. That’s a pretty incredible detail to consider.
I’m pretty sure that Matt and Steph collected some of the happiest and most emotional people in Cornwall, and the two of them had the clarity of mind to really live in the moment of their day. The result? Joy. Excitement. Alllllll the happy tears.
Matt and Steph, I love you guys and am so thankful that I got to be there for you on your big day. I hope that these photos take you back to all of the feelings from your big day and that they continue to put a smile on your face for decades to come.
