Lauren’s Bohemian Summer Maternity Session
When Lauren approached me with an idea for a bohemian summer maternity session, she immediately got my full attention. I have seen the flower crown trend hit blogs and photography groups, but it didn’t seem like it had reached Cornwall (or, at least, me), so I was curious – and then thrilled – to see what she and Rachelle from Blooms came up with as their take on this style.
We met on a beautiful summer evening and explored Cooper Marsh together with Al, Lauren’s husband. We had intense greenery. We had beautiful clothing choices. We had gorgeous sun. We had thousands of mosquitoes and lots of laughs. I’d say it was a wonderful session, but that’d be a major understatement. Despite being camera shy, we managed to get Al in front of the lens and looking relaxed.
Part of the fun for me with these sessions is giving parents-to-be a few moments of connection amongst the chaos of getting ready to welcome a new baby. Life is chaotic; a maternity shoot shouldn’t be. Lauren had most of the marsh to herself for the evening, so we soaked in the silence as the sun dropped below the trees before saying our goodbyes and heading off to wait for Harlow’s arrival.
I’m Ang. I’m a Cornwall, Ontario-based photographer offering maternity, child and family portraiture in and around SD&G and my Cornwall studio; weddings and documentary family sessions are available worldwide. I’m an avid traveler and my passport is always up-to-date. I have dual citizenship with the UK (which means I can legally work in the EU) and I’m ALWAYS ready for an adventure. Laughter is important in my life and in my work, meaning that my clients experience informal, interesting shoots that make them feel connected to one another and full of life.
