I very rarely use the waterfront for photos because it’s such a heavily photographed area and I want my clients’ images to have a different setting that those of their friends and family. However, every time I end up down there, I’m reminded that it’s popular for a very good reason – there are some spectacular photo background opportunities to be had!
My session with the Marini gang started a little rough – rather than cooling off as it got later, the day got hotter and more still as the wind died down, meaning one of my locations was going to be good only for a short time because I knew the direct sunlight would be too much for a pregnant woman to have to deal with. I opted to start with the least sheltered spot and finish in the shade so that everyone only had to deal with the sun for a little while. These guys were a hoot; I know several members of the family through school, tutoring, and networking connections, so there were a number of familiar faces in the crowd and the whole group seemed very at ease together. It’s clear that, as a group, they get along so well – the girls’ husbands seem to have banded together to balance out the estrogen-heavy original family of six, and it was a laugh watching them all tease each other throughout the session. :)
Thanks for a great shoot, guys! Here are some of my favourites:
