Ava’s Cornwall first birthday photos are the truest representation I can think of for what first birthdays really are: some fun in the back yard, some time being bossed around by your sister, Mom and Dad being so happy to celebrate you, you being significantly less happy to be celebrated, and eager grandparents who can’t wait to get their hands on you. Oh, and a face full of icing. Amiright?
Ava was an absolute legend the afternoon I spent with her. She adores anything with wheels, as was made immediately apparent by her giant grin when she climbed in and around her little car. Alivia’s independence and determination on the slide made for some exciting moments when she decided to involve a chair and her sister (not at the same time, thankfully), but Ava took it in stride and acted like being bear hugged while flying down the slide was no big deal. Teething tears meant that it looked like the cake was going to be forgotten, but she rallied and dug straight into the icing before snacking on some licorice to help her gums. cries while family prepares to bring cake during cornwall-first-birthday-photos
