Cooper Marsh is the perfect place for both family photos and adventure. Better yet, it’s the perfect place to combine those two things with a birthday treat.
I’ve been to Cooper Marsh countless times, but almost always with couples – very rarely with kids (definitely not in the last few years). If you ever need to be reminded how to find the joy and adventure in a place, bring preschoolers with you. Specifically, bring Mika and Aurélie with you. ;)
These two form the sweetest pair of sidekicks that anyone could ask for and they could not have been more excited to explore every nook, cranny, corner and bend within the grounds of the marsh. It was a huge bonus that Poppy was there with them, and the kids definitely took advantage of being able to tow him to all of their newfound sights. If there was a sign, Mika was going to let us know. If there was a new trail option, bridge or bird blind up ahead, he was going to let us know. If he saw any wildlife, you guessed it – he was going to let us know. :)
It was Aurélie’s birthday that day, and she was clearly feeling all of the birthday vibes while she strutted and pranced her way through our explorations. I don’t know that I’ve ever seen her smile as big as she did that morning! We ended our time with a little birthday picnic on the grass while the birthday girl absolutely demolished a cupcake with the sort of grace that typically results in a bath.
