During my recent trip to Cape Town with my parents, sister and bro-in-law and husband, we spent 5 nights in Cape Town, enjoying the food, drink and vistas that the Western Cape has to offer. Harbour House, Polana, even a simple fish and chips lunch in Simon’s Town… The food was exquisite, and the company was divine.

Rich and I have been to CPT before, so we took advantage of our familiarity with the area and showed the rest of the gang around. A highlight of a trip to the Cape is always the wineries and the drive around the Point, and that’s what the images in this post are all about.

We took in the scenery of Cape Point, Simons Town, Fishhoek, and, because a trip anywhere with me is NEVER complete without wine, made a couple of essential stops: Groot Constantia for a spot of tastings and some Cape Malay cuisine, and Buitenverwachting – so gorgeous we had to go twice in two days to “try” some of our favourites (because we’re not familiar with Batavia or Buiten Blanc, are we, Rich?).

The majesty of this little part of the world never ceases to take my breath away – nor does the welcoming nature of the people we encounter there.

Enjoy! We certainly did.
