Avaani & Saachi – Montreal Documentary Newborn Session

Twins were a theme in August! I drove to Brossard for a session with Gurprit, Pavan their newly born twin daughters.

This session was ridiculous – so much sweetness in one home! These two tiny little girls had all three of us wrapped around their little fingers.

Pavan and Gurprit thought that they’d have a quiet little start to the session and get some photos in their room with both girls cuddled quietly in their arms. Nope. Feeding time. Okay, feeding done. Now quiet photo time? Nope. Diaper time. For both girls. And then feeding time again. And so it goes…

What they didn’t realise is that their quiet little lifestyle session had warped into a documentary session of the best sort. Scrunched up, wailing little faces. Dad cuddling one, while Mom feeds the other. Mom changing a diaper. Dad trying not to fall asleep while holding the other warm, sleepy little human being who had just joined his family. Mom and Dad each holding a beautiful, somnolent little bundle. And my absolute favourite: the looks exchanged between Mom and Dad while they try to figure out what’s going on and how they were so lucky to be the ones it happened to.

I love new parents. :)

Gurprit and Pavan, I was so thrilled that you invited me into your home to document this special time for you. Thank you for having me!

I’m Ang – a documentary family photographer based in Cornwall, Ontario and travelling to just about anywhere. My passion for capturing light and photographing natural moments in life as they happen leads me to capture memories that you will cherish once your children are too grown up to curl into your lap for cuddles and the house seems oddly quiet at night. I love meeting new families in their natural environment and getting in amongst the bedlam so that I can document the perfectly imperfect realities of daily life. Please explore more of www.momentusstudio.com to see more examples of Cornwall, Ottawa, and Montreal documentary newborn sessions.
