Aly & Sean
What a way to wrap up my wedding season and celebrate my 100th wedding. There could’ve been no better wedding but yours, and I set about photographing your day with the same effort as I would if you were my own family. We made a plan, changed the plan, changed the plan AGAIN and about 17 more times, but you rode out that little burst of rain like pros.
My favourite moment of this whole day was seeing Sean wring out Aly’s dress. Nothing better encapsulates your attitude towards your wedding day than that particular moment together. You couldn’t have been more relaxed, more welcoming, more focused on living the moments as they unfolded and I’m so grateful to each of you for that.
This day was the perfect reminder that rain does not ruin a wedding – even when your church has no roof. It just makes it more memorable. Your guests made do with the weather the best way they knew how, cuddling together under umbrellas and laughing about the mist that accompanied you down the aisle in the spectacular wedding setting provided by St Raphael’s Ruins. Taking shelter from the rain after the ceremony is what led to the photo of Aly and Mair sitting together on the window ledge and that silhouette of you both in the window arch. I laughed with you as we trudged through wet grass and I stood with Kris and Gary and cheered the guests who circled the parking field and finally freed themselves from the mud. There was no chance that a bit of rain would ruin the day; it just added to the party.
I still can’t believe how much work went in to prepping the shop to become the site of the reception. I am AMAZED at what you accomplished. Your day was full of delight from Aly’s handcrafted signs and having Murray officiate the ceremony to Friends references and your choreographed wedding party dance, where the biggest surprise to us all was how well Sean could move.
I lived the joy with your family as much as I documented it.
Aly and Sean, thank you for the endless amount of effort you put in to making this day so wonderful. Thank you for staying focused on what mattered most and being able to let everything else go. Thank you, most of all, for giving me the honour of making these photos for you.

I’m Ang. I’m a Cornwall, Ontario-based photographer offering wedding and documentary family coverage locally and worldwide. Visual storytelling is what I do best, so laughter and connection is important in my work. I love working with couples who are emotionally present on their wedding day and who love spending time laughing with loved ones, and celebrations like this St Raphael’s Ruins wedding are a great example of the kind of relaxed, family-oriented day I love being involved in.
