I’m so excited about this post because these two session were just ridiculously adorable. It’s that 6-8 month stage, at it again – big smiles, lots of excitement, a tiny body full of pride because of their latest talents (hey, sitting is a BIG deal!).

Alivia was up first and WOW was she a stunner! Jessica and Andrew live in Edmonton but spent the summer visiting Andrew’s family, so Jessica got in touch a few months ago to ensure that they’d get a chance to come for a session. We’d originally hoped to do our session outdoors, but at 13 degrees, decided that it was definitely a great day to be cosy and warm in the studio. At just six months old, she’s well on her way to being stable when sitting, but isn’t quite there yet. When she gets excited, she wiggles herself into unstable territory and that makes life a little exciting for everyone else. :) I couldn’t get over how big this little one’s smile was and how keen she was to show it off. She and I had so much fun hanging out on the floor that it was a shame when the time came for her to pack up and go home.

Here are some favourites from Alivia’s time in the studio:Alivia12914 017Alivia12914 030Alivia12914 047Alivia12914 060Alivia12914 065Alivia12914 084Alivia12914 141

Next we’ve got the Fullartons. Nathan’s first session was a beauty, but it was a tough one for his older sister, who was having a less-than-perfect day. This time, everyone was keen to have a better time, including Emily, who just about stole the show! On my morning scouting drive, I was on my way to a particular location when I stumbled across a path that was just perfect. There were yellow and purple wildflowers (okay, weeds, whatever) in bloom and so much greenery around that I was in love with it and couldn’t wait to bring Mary and Chris’s gang out there.

We covered a lot of ground in a very short amount of time. I kept thinking that something was going to go wrong – someone would get cranky or tired; someone else would take a little tumble in some dirt; something – because it was just going so incredibly well. As it turns out, it was just one of those sessions where the kids just plain rocked it! Nathan was keen to give me some good ol’ fashioned stare-downs (oh my goodness – check out the image of him in front of the red crate – those eyes KILL me!), Emily showed off her incredible cat’s eyes (oh, boys, watch out!), and Mary and Chris made the whole parenting thing look easy! I don’t know how we got so lucky that day, but I have a feeling that Chris and Mary get all the credit for that one. :)

There are so many  favourites from both Alivia and Nathan’s sessions, but here are a few from my time with the Fullartons:Fullarton16914 005Fullarton16914 010Fullarton16914 021Fullarton16914 034Fullarton16914 049Fullarton16914 072Fullarton16914 081Fullarton16914 088Fullarton16914 090
