Chris and Mary,
Your intimate Lamb’s Pond Christmas wedding was the perfect combination of details and family. It was touching to see the way that your family really honed in on and celebrated all of the the little details that mattered so much to you like the heart ceremony, the menu, the sleigh ride, and the custom mugs for your hot chocolate. What really caught my attention, though, was the way they were laser-focused on the two of you. You may have made the challenging decision to keep your guest list to only four people, but amidst sparkling eyes, those four people smiled and clapped and celebrated you both with enough exuberance for fifty others.
I loved that you reveled in seeing all of your plans come together. Through the tumultuous swings of further looming COVID restrictions, you planned a Christmas wedding in only two short months and dealt with last-minute changes – including having me join you two days before! – like absolute troopers. When your day finally arrived, I could see how much joy it brought you to finally be carrying out your plans and truly living your day the way that you’d wanted to.
I knew that this would be a unique day as soon as I learned that Mary would be getting ready on her own. During this time together with you, Mary, I felt like I was helping an long-time friend prepare for her wedding day, instead of someone I’d just met in person for the first time. Your delight at each detail – of your dress, of your ceremony, of each new location on the sprawling Lamb’s Pond property, of each nook and cranny of Russell Manor – only got me more excited about your day as it progressed, and I could see how Chris basked in the glow of your happiness each step of the way.
It’s hard to think of more fitting locations for your Christmas wedding than the ones you chose: the snowy forest and frozen waterfront of Lamb’s Pond and the incredible, ornate details of Russell Manor. I could see how much your vendors cared about you two and your experience with your family that day in the way that they checked in and went out of their way to pay attentional to every minute detail.
From portraits in the forest set to the background music of howling coyotes, to the windswept lake and the intimate, cozy rooms of Russell Manor, your locations offered me endless opportunities, while your enthusiasm about portraits meant that we got to devote time to make all kinds of creative work together before your joined your family for laughter while sampling your way through the incredible meal that you planned with Michael and Ron.
Thank you for making this such a dream day for everyone and for welcoming me so wholeheartedly with so much trust. It can be a real challenge to have to change photographers at the last minute, but I’m not sure that I can imagine it ever working out more smoothly.
Here’s a look at some highlights from our time together:
I’m Ang. I’m a Cornwall, Ontario-based photographer offering wedding and documentary family coverage throughout Cornwall, SD&G, Brockville, and destinations further afield. Visual storytelling is what I do best, so laughter and connection is important in my work. I love working with couples who are emotionally present on their wedding day and who love spending time laughing with loved ones, so celebrations like this intimate Lamb’s Pond Christmas wedding are a great example of the kind of relaxed, family-oriented day I love being involved in.
