Adeline,
What a treat it was to join you for a family session at home again now that you’re 1! You’ve grown into this little girl who has opinions, likes and dislikes all of her own – not to mention a smile that lights up your whole face.
When I came to visit, it was just you and your mom because Dad had been called away to work, but what that meant was that I got to see what’s so special about your bond with your mom. You and your mom have such a beautiful relationship. You look to her for reassurance; you run to her when you’re most excited; and it’s her you cling to when you’ve fallen and need comfort. I can see how she cherishes those few minutes with you in her lap before she puts you down for her nap. You’ve formed quite the connection over this past year!
Your mom loves to laugh, which is lucky because you give her plenty to laugh about during a year that’s been a whole new challenge. You have the sweetest reactions to things that you love and comically over-friendly relationship with your cats (even if that friendship isn’t really reciprocated). I can see how your mom works so hard to make sure that you’re growing in your independence, that you know you’re loved, that you have a close bond with your grandpa, and that you maybe keep your shoes on once in awhile – or at least keep the two of them in the same place just once. ;)
When I came to visit you, we played in your backyard and in your family room, in your playroom and in your kitchen. We did a lot of playing – enough that you and I both needed a nap afterwards (even though you were the only lucky person to get one).
Here’s a little look at what you got up to on one sunny Sunday morning in July:
I’m Ang – a Cornwall, Ontario documentary family photographer with a passion for capturing light and photographing natural moments in life as they happen. My goal is to capture memories that you will cherish once your children are too grown up to curl into your lap for cuddles and the house seems oddly quiet at night. I love meeting new families in their natural environment and getting in amongst the bedlam so that I can document the perfectly imperfect realities of daily life.
