I can’t believe that I never shared this woodsy engagement session featuring one of my liveliest Ottawa wedding couples!
Mat & Stéph joined me in Cornwall before dawn on a quiet October morning so that we could make a little magic happen. It was during this session that I realised we were in for an amazing time with these two. Not only are they super easy to get along with, but these freaking awesome people share my sense of humour AND they also have an incredible connection on camera. It kinda doesn’t get better than that, right? We spent our time together clambering over logs, goofing around in the woods and, generally sharing a whole lot of laughs. When you’ve got two people who are willing to be up before dawn just to hang out with you, and then they proceed to smile and laugh through the whole thing, you know you’re with the right kind of people.
The sun didn’t really come out for us that morning, so this session actually marked the start of Kristin and I faking it – using a little off-camera flash to make our own “sun” to shine on these two. Since this session, we’ve gotten pretty well-versed in making this work and look forward to faking sunshine any time we need to. :)
