Milo Turns 1! – Cornwall Children’s Photography
Milo’s first birthday session happened at home. I was super excited because a documentary session is such a great way to show all of the little details that make up a child’s personality, whether they’re 1 or 12. Milo is an adorable little bald-headed smiling wonder and Chris and Sarah have a very wry and realistic outlook on parenting, so I knew that this session would be tons of fun.
Milo loves his dog, Molly, and has taken up the role of second guard dog alongside her. He “barks” and waits in the front window when guests are coming and going. Molly brings him her leash, even though he’s only just starting to walk himself and there was no way the two of them would be let loose into the world on their own. :) Chris is a talented rock musician, and a backyard drumming session revealed that Milo is trying to follow in Dad’s footsteps. Bath time is consistently one of my favourite family moments to photograph. Tenderness, grumpiness, and excitement all within a short period of time. Add Molly into the mix and you get a few extra quirks, since she “helps” the bathing process by licking Milo clean.
Story time, an evening bottle, and then it’s bedtime for the littlest Benton. Those bedtime cuddles are something so worth capturing. They morph over time into many different versions of the same basic quiet moment before disappearing completely.
Here’s Milo, going to bed 0 and waking up 1. :)
I’m Ang – a documentary family photographer in Cornwall, Ontario. My passion is capturing light and photographing natural moments in life as they happen. I capture memories that you’ll cherish once your children are too big to curl into your lap for cuddles and the house seems oddly quiet at night. I love getting in amongst the bedlam at home to document the perfectly imperfect realities of daily life.
