Back in November, I made a trip overseas to work with several families, which is something I do a couple of times a year. One of which was Justine and Richard’s little gang. I first worked with these guys back in January of 2014, when Stanley was several months old and full of character. He’s certainly no less full of character (or energy) now, and he has a little brother on whom to shower all that love – which he does, with varying degrees of success. :)

I think that Justine and Richard had one thing in mind when they planned this shoot, but it quickly became clear that Stanley had a plan of his own. What they’d hoped would be a quiet, controlled lifestyle session morphed into something slightly different – namely, a boisterous, loving display of what it means to be a part of their family. I loved every second of it. What I saw were two parents who delighted in the oddball things their son comes up with and who marvel at the beauty of their youngest; and a growing toddler who is actively engaged in the world around him. He’s inquisitive, he’s eager to show affection to those he loves, and he’s certainly excited about life. As for George, he’s all pudgy gorgeousness as he figures out his place in the world. He has the same expressive, inquisitive eyes that Stanley had when we first met, and it’s easy to get the impression that he’s really watching what’s happening.

Richard and Justine, thank you for welcoming me back and sharing laughs with me amongst the chaos. This session was a true November highlight.
