Many of my clients know that I lived in London for six years and that I love to travel. What most people don’t know is that, of all the places I’ve travelled, London’s Richmond Park is one of my most favourites places on earth. So when the opportunity came up to do Lily’s first birthday session there, I was over the moon.
I’m so thrilled with this session that I’m honestly at a loss for words. I want to rave about this setting and this toddler, but I’m afraid that if I start, I won’t get stopped… This session was originally supposed to take place on a Monday, but I arrived home from the hospital in North London at about 2:30 in the morning, having left Rich there after he was admitted due to an infection in his elbow. I was exhausted, concerned for his health, and disappointed that I had to postpone this session (the weather would be horrible the next day anyway, but I wasn’t to know that yet), and very concerned that the session may not happen in the end because I was only over for short time and the potential for scheduling conflicts was massive. But it all worked out and we managed to make calendars match on what ended up being a glorious late afternoon.
Despite the fact that Lily would later be diagnosed with throat and ear infections, she rocked this session like a boss and showed off for me. Carly and Ben radiate joy when they’re with her and are game for just about anything, so working with them is always a piece of cake because they are so genuinely happy with what life has given them. I’m so so sooooo glad that we were able to make this session happen!
I am trying to cut down the number of images in my posts because I have so many posts to get up here, but there’s no way to get this down to five or six, so here are Lily’s highlights:
