Meet Maddie. She is talkative, excited about life, and completely unpredictable in the best – and often funniest – sort of way. Maddie and I first met when her mother booked a session with me last fall, and I was thrilled to hear that they were planning to come back around the time of Maddie’s 3rd birthday. We were going for something of a ‘Candyland’ theme, so there was plenty of pink and pastels, and the pettiskirt and tutus were the perfect additions. What you see below is completely unposed and unscripted – the only way you can run a session with this absolutely adorable little girl is to suggest a spot she might like to sit and then document what happens next! Check out the final image in this post; how she manages to look so regal and mature at the ripe old age of three is completely beyond me, but it speaks to me in a way that few other of my images do. Maybe it’s those little toes. :) .
Given that every session with Maddie is both an adventure and a surprise, it’s a safe bet that I’ll be looking forward to the next time we get to hang out together.
