What a day we had for this Cornwall half day documentary family photography session!

I’ve spent a fair bit of time with the Murphy family over the past few years and I always walk away laughing. The girls are full of spunk and adventure, which Ian and Melissa are happy to support. As a perfect example, we had isolated rain showers during our afternoon together, but true to form, the girls insisted on staying out instead of seeking shelter, so Mom and Dad did, too. I love a family that plays in the rain together, so this was amazing.

Our time together on this particular afternoon was simple: the Murphys focused on letting loose and playing together. We hit the swings, played with glider planes, drew on the driveway (it made me smile so big to see my name make an appearance in the list of family names!), rode bikes, blew bubbles, tended the garden, and used the hoses to make rainbows (and soak people).

I love seeing parents getting in on the action and playing with their kids because that’s how we make memories our kids will hold close to their hearts. This is one of those galleries that truly made me feel like the girls would have a collection of photos to treasure when they get older; one that showed them the joy they bring to their mom and dad’s lives.

Here’s a look into the four hours of adventure that we spent together:
